Assignment Description
- Select a narrative from the archive. It doesn’t matter which one. (1 minute)
- Find a 1-2 sentence passage from the narrative you have selected (2-3 minutes)
- Building around this quotation, use Graff and Birkenstein’s integration model as a template for writing a paragraph, including a composing a topic sentence and introducing, citing, and explaining the quotation as evidence for the claim stated in the topic sentence. (10-15 minutes)
- On a separate piece of paper, reflect on how this model might be useful for a client who comes into the center with a research paper. Additionally, reflect on how the template might also be insufficient or fail to meet a client’s needs. (5-7 minutes)
